Hamilton's Tony Awards 2016

The Tony Awards is my favorite awards show. It is the only awards show that’s entertaining.  They don’t have long speeches instead it is full of entertaining musical numbers. The one thing I hate is when they put politics in it. They put down Trump and made Clinton look desperate. Besides that it was great.

James Corden was one of the best hosts for the Tony besides Nathan Lane. Sorry, Patrick Harris. He was energetic and hilarious. I wasn’t a big fan of the Karaoke in the car just because he already had it on his show.
My favorite performances were School of Rock-The Musical and Hamilton. I only wished they had chosen a song from School of Rock that had Sierra Boggess performing in too.  Gloria Estefan and Barbra Streisand performed. They did amazing.
One of the most talented musical creators for this generation is Lin-Manuel Miranda who has brought children and young adults to the theatre who wouldn’t have through his catchy rap songs from his musical Hamilton.  I am not a fan of rap music but love the songs his created.  As many predicted, Hamilton brought home pretty much every award they were nominated for.  Almost beating The Producers by only one award.
Lin-Manuel Miranda isn’t the only one that brought children and young adults to the theatre. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s School of Rock-The Musical has upbeat powerful rock songs.
It looks like Broadway’s style is slowing changing.
