In Such Good Company by Carol Burnett

I couldn't wait to receive Carol Burnett's new book In Such Good Company.  The book arrived. My eyes went to the first word on the page and then next until I read the final word. I didn't want it to end. The book takes you on Carol's life journey during the years of the Carol Burnett Show.
The first couple of chapters talks a little bit about her career and how Carol Burnett Show was created.
Most of the chapters she talks about the guest stars she had on the show. Such as; Alan Alba, Jim Nabors, Bernadette Peters, Shirley McLaine, and Betty White. Each guest star she explains a little bit on how they met and what skits they performed in. As well as some of her favorite memories of them.

My favorite guest star she talked about was Lucille Ball. Lucille Ball came to Carol's Broadway show Once on this Mattress. She was more nervous knowing Lucille Ball was in the audience than her opening night of the show. After the show,  Lucille Ball told her she was terrific and five years later she went on the Carol Burnett Show.
"I guess I would rather regret the things we done than to regret the things we never done.'-- Lucille Ball
I would have never known the Jackson 5 were very very shy. Michael told Carol he felt like he was unattractive.

Not only does she talk about the guests, but she also talks about bloopers and fumbles. Throughout her book, she talks about a variety of audience's question and her answers.  She hated doing it, especially the first time because surprisingly she was really nervous about it.

Also, another fun element of this book is she has included some of the skits scripts.

I would highly suggest getting this book. I never found myself skipping pages. I was sad the book ended.

"I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review."
